When on patch day to day interacting with a wide range of customers - including vulnerable. Servicing and repairing customers boilers & systems to ensure they have heating to stay warm and running hot water for comfort. When in academy spend time doing a mixture of classroom learning and practical to display the learnt skills.
Been able to develop power tool skills, team work/collaboration and problem solving skills etc.
Good programme. In the beginning there are some boring but important bits to get through (HSE etc) but once you get through that the learning is good and you get to be quite hands on.
You get to go through things step by step from the different kinds of boilers to wiring up a system from scratch, you learn everything one at a time without a rush. With the ability to go back to parts youre not 100% on.
Between managers, trainers and mentors you get amazing support with any issue, no matter how small.
All issues can be resolved and talked through via a quick email or phone conversation, everyone is happy to help
The qualification and learning provides great detailed insights into everything you need to know about boilers and systems. You are able to directly apply your knowledge to your day to day tasks.
If staying in the hotel during academy time we often go down for group dinners, GOALS nearby if you like football, head out to the local shopping centers after work time.
