As a Service & Repair Gas Engineering Apprentice, we are taught to fix and service boilers / central heating systems. Day-to-day we are either in the academy or out on patch (working with a mentor) and constantly learning.
I have learnt so far how to install pipework, service boilers, repair certain parts of the boiler, developed my driving skills as were given a company van first day.
i really enjoy the program because its hands on work, involves problem solving, and you do it with a good group of people besides you.
The structure of the program is really good, you'll spend a few weeks in the academy leaning, then applying the skills you learnt on patch with a mentor on jobs.
I receive a lot of support from my employer and trainer. They are always available and very helpful when i do need help.
I receive a lot of support from my trainer, they really do care.
