My job involves answering emails from our mortgage requests mailbox which is new or existing customer enquiries ranging from booking an appointment for explaining any process we offer. Another job is completing Decision In Principles with customers before their advice appointment. This includes taking details of income/outgoing/commitments.
I have developed my existing customer facing skills such as active listening, communication and problem solving. The skills I have learned to do is self-improvement , critical thinking and empathy, especially when speaking to vulnerable customers.
I am really enjoying the programme and learning different aspects of the job. Especially with CeMAP, I am learning many things that can assist me in my life time. I'll be getting a mortgage soon so it is great practice and preperation!
At first I was slightly lost and didn't know when my exams were going to be until I spoke with my learning coach and he cleared everything up. I now know time scales and workshop dates to prepare for.
I receive a lot of support from my employer, especially making time for sufficient revison. I tell my manager if there is too much on my plate at one time and we discuss ways how we can minimise and manage that.
I have had several 121 sessions with my learning coach on topics I don't quite understand. He has always made time for a chat as well as check in with me too.
To be a registered mortgage adviser I need to pass all 3 exams in CeMAP.
I am part of an Early Talent Cohort of 2024 and we have been assigned a project in smaller groups. My project is to enhance career movement within IT department. I meet with my group every week and discuss our next move. There will be a presentation at the end of the year.

I was actually recommended by one of my close friends. She told me how great of a community it is and all the activities and networking communities there is to join. As well as the volunteering and Christmas parties they do. It really is for everyone and anyone. When I joined it was just how my friend described it but even better actually being an employee.
Be yourself, be eager to learn and bring new ideas!
