  • Mixture between in field and academy work where you learn how to work on central heating systems of most varieties.

  • Yes many new skills such as hands on technical skills as well as overall time management and confidence

  • I think the overall structure is good however some content seems to be quite repetitive and I feel that the course could be restructured to learn more important aspects of the job quicker

  • Overall structure is good just feel like some pieces of information are left for too late and some learning resources could be given a bit sooner

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • British gas are very good at supporting you if you are new to this type of roll. They can help you in many different ways and it is easy to access support if needed. Also there are many people you can get support from not just management

  • It is mandatory for my role

  • There are many different activities to do whilst in the academy we play 5 a side and have a pool table in the muster room

  • Yes

  • Good and fair work conditions along with good wages for apprentices


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to British Gas?
  • Make sure to be confident you may not know how to perform the role but that is what the apprenticeship is for as long as you put in effort you will get there eventually
