Our role involves day to day interaction with the client asking them for information to help us audit certain areas of the financial statements and discussing any follow up issues we have with them. We then document our findings as part of our audit work.
confidence and communication skills massively as we are working with much more senior members of staff and have to interact in a professional manner whilst with the client. Our leadership skills also develop when helping coach other junior members of the team
we get a balance between university life and working life which we also get paid for. As we only complete short placements it is not like we are away from uni for a long period of time either. The course itself is challenging but rewarding and we get the chance to put it into practise in a real life working environment
Pwc keep in regular contact with us when we are back at university and are always made to feel welcome when we first started placement as well as when we return on our following placements
considering this is the first year the course has been run at our university I feel it has been organised and well structured where we have had the appropriate teaching and support to help us complete our exams . Our lecturers have previous audit experience so can relate to us also
the university are always there if we feel like we need support which on placement and keep in regular contact with us when we are at university also. They have had previous audit experience and therefore can relate and give us honest advice where needed
everyone at Pwc is friendly and willing to help where we have questions on areas we are unsure about. We each have a people manager who keeps in regular contact with us and is there to help and answer our questions
our salary is competitive for a placement salary but is quite a bit below the starting salary of an associate of which we are completing the same work as at the same level. We do however receive accommodation which is paid for by our employer which not many others companies provide to their placement employees.
As we work during the busiest time of the year activities outside of work are limited however we are invited to other events throughout the year if we want to attend those

It is a well renowned company to work for as well as we are able to take exams which qualify towards our chartered accountant status. The course at university gives a fast track option for people who wish to peruse a career in accounting
Be confident and act yourself if you obtain an interview. If applying for our degree understand what you are applying for and how the programme works. Understand the benefits of obtaining chartered status and be ready to be able to switch between working life and university life quickly
