My role as an assistant general manger requires the running of the restaurant on a day to day basis, dealing with all HR and ER issues on site, but most importantly people management, taking care of my team and supporting them in their goals and aspirations.
I have learnt so much throughout the years in wagamamas, through doing my Level 3 CIPD aprentership I have really been able to understand more around the process behind policies and the business impact of all choices made. I have used the skills I have learned to train my team on emotional intelligence and the impact we have on the people around us, leading to improved team retention and improved team moral.
The programme that I have done has really given me the confidence to go further and progress within the company, i thouroughly enjoy helping others and training them to be the best they can be.
Simply amazing everything is clearly structured so I always knew what stage I was at, lots of support whenever I needed it from both the tutors and business management. Regular check ins with my tutor to do learning and go through my work further. Can not fault the programme at all.
The support was endless nothing was ever to much from spending days in head office to learn the ropes to team meetings to talk to the experts. I have loved it so much I will be doing another very soon.
My tutor was simply amazing through my whole experience always checking in and supporting me no matter the time of day he would respond to and query’s I had and was very flexible around my personal circumstances.
My qualification has changed my approach completely and improved my sound listening skills, emotional intelligence and awareness on the impact managers have on the team.
There are lots of this to get involved in nothing is to much.
Yes
Over the years I have brought so many of my friends into the business and will continue to do so. Once you are part of the wagamama family you are for life, we have each others backs and that has true meaning for us all.
Just be yourself, wagamama is based around diversity and inclusion of all and we embody that as managers all are welcome, enjoy the experience and family that you will soon be part off.
