An admin based role where we pick up requests that come in from the sales teams. These requests can include building quotes for Cisco kit which then goes to their customers, checking the support on various pieces of kit, etc. If the customer wants to go further we can then develop on the ticket by preparing order documents and handling the onboarding for the orders.
I have learnt so much about utilising applications, especially excel. Such as formulas, shortcuts and general use. I have also developed my confidence, communication and problem solving skills massively since joining Softcat. This is due to the fantastic environment where being sociable and having the chance to expand your knowledge is regarded as a priority
I love every minute of it. Including the work and apprentice side of things. Although I do enjoy the work very much, the main reason for this is the wonderful people I do it with. My team is great and everyone you meet is so kind!
A great balance between normal and apprenticeship work. It is a clear and well structured programme.
My manager has been a fantastic mentor and teacher. He is great at what he does and has a lot of patience with me. He is a great guy to be around in general and is one of the reasons why I'm enjoying being here so much. He is always happy to help with any task I come to him with.
Our apprentice tutor has been extremely helpful so far. She is always giving great feedback on how to improve and is happy to jump on calls in order to explain anything.
Obviously the qualification won't be completely relevant to each and everyone of our roles. However, it has been very helpful in teaching us business fundamentals that everyone needs to know.
There are so many extra things that you can chose to do. Including many communities, socialising events, charity events and many more.
Yes
It is a brilliant place to be where you can make friends, have fun and be yourself at work.
Don't try to be someone who you're not, be yourself and I'm sure someone will recognise you for that!
