  • My daily tasks vary depending on the day but generally include site inductions, quality control, Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation and setting out.

  • I have learnt new skills like how to use a GPS to set out and complete surveys. I have also learnt about more about Building Information Modelling (BIM) and how to use it.

  • I enjoy the program and how it is implemented with a nice balance between work on site and university study.

  • It is well organised and structured and I have found it easy to integrate into the site team and at university.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive lots of support from my manager and the site team especially when it comes to balancing university and site work or if I am struggling to understand something.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive lots of support from my training provider with plenty of opportunities for meetings with my lecturers if I am struggling to understand a topic

  • It has helped me to perform better in my role as it has helped me to better understand the theory behind some of the work that I am doing.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Kier offer extra curricular activities like volunteer days where as a group we can go and volunteer to do charity work which helps to give back to people in need and gives an opportunity for networking and team building.

  • Yes

  • Because they have been very supportive with ensuring we integrate well into the industry and the job role and very inclusive to all their employees.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Kier Group?
  • My advice is to research a bit into the specific job role, demonstrate an interest in the industry and try to show you fit the companies values.
