My daily tasks vary depending on the day but generally include site inductions, quality control, Building Information Modelling (BIM) implementation and setting out.
I have learnt new skills like how to use a GPS to set out and complete surveys. I have also learnt about more about Building Information Modelling (BIM) and how to use it.
I enjoy the program and how it is implemented with a nice balance between work on site and university study.
It is well organised and structured and I have found it easy to integrate into the site team and at university.
I receive lots of support from my manager and the site team especially when it comes to balancing university and site work or if I am struggling to understand something.
I receive lots of support from my training provider with plenty of opportunities for meetings with my lecturers if I am struggling to understand a topic
It has helped me to perform better in my role as it has helped me to better understand the theory behind some of the work that I am doing.
Kier offer extra curricular activities like volunteer days where as a group we can go and volunteer to do charity work which helps to give back to people in need and gives an opportunity for networking and team building.
Yes
Because they have been very supportive with ensuring we integrate well into the industry and the job role and very inclusive to all their employees.
My advice is to research a bit into the specific job role, demonstrate an interest in the industry and try to show you fit the companies values.
