Technology & Operations Apprentice Review

My team deliver professional development programs to accelerate the growth of talented individuals who work at BlackRock. My day to day tasks include organizing and joining meetings with senior leaders for the programs and creating/editing PowerPoints and other documents in preparation for these development programs.

I would say that i have developed a mixture of both with me enhancing skills that are heavily valuable in the finance world such as excel, PowerPoint and time management within a faced paced environment. This is also paired with learning new skills such as learning how to code.

I very much enjoy it due to the it allowing me to further stretch my current abilities while also being able to learn new things both on the job and while learning for the qualification. Managers here are very supportive and there is significant amount of resources given to you to make sure you succeed both in your qualification and job

It is very well organized - your webinar times and dates are given to you in advance allowing you to work around those times with your manager.

I receive a significant amount of support from my employer. Me and my manager have weekly 1:1s were i can speak about areas where i do need support and how that could be offered.

I receive quite a lot of support. I have regular meetings with my BPP coach and my manager who walks me through upcoming assignments and exams as well as ways to also utilize given resources in my revision.

It has helped me understand what asset classes Blackrock actually deal with as well as understand different parts of the financial system. This has therefore helped me perform better in my role as i am able to to interact with different people within any part of the business.
