As an engineering technician, I rotate in placement around MINI Plant Swindon, and gain experience on the technical roles and involve quality and process understanding of the business, learning to meet customer requirements and how to work in a team.
I have learnt both technical and social skills during the course of my apprenticeship, such as PLC's, welding and business in my first year. Then I also got more experience presenting projects and how to work in a team.
I enjoy the apprenticeship, I get to learn a lot about the business and myself through projects and understand every associate's input in the decision making for the best outcome product for the seller.
The apprenticeship is fairly organized, giving you a chance to develop hands on and technical skills.
Employer always provides correct PPE and resources when needed, and people around the plan are assigned to help associates if needed
A lot of support is given from the training provider.
better understanding of certain skills we learn at college and we also get to apply them in the workplace
As an apprentice, you get plenty of chances to get yourself involved in groups such as charity teams, communications, union rep. extra...
