Since starting my role as a Supply Chain Apprentice in September 2023, I have worked rotation in logistics, warehousing and planning. I have had the opportunity to work with colleagues on cost saving projects such as a yearly inventory review and support team operations, while studying towards a degree.
I have developed new and existing skills, including learning how to effectively use warehouse management systems, effective communication with external partners and suppliers, and presenting to large groups, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). These experiences have enhanced my proficiency and confidence in various aspects of supply chain operations.
I thoroughly enjoy my role as a Supply Chain Apprentice. I have had numerous opportunities to network with colleagues at various sites, learn diverse roles for an in-depth understanding of supply chain operations, and engage in work that aligns directly with my university studies.
The program I am enrolled in is exceptionally well-structured. My work rotations are aligned with my university modules whenever possible, allowing me to apply theoretical knowledge into practice and integrate what I have learned at university into the workplace.
I have received excellent support from my employer during my apprenticeship. Each workweek, I am given ample time to focus on my university studies, and my colleagues are always willing to help with my academic learning.
My university has provided great support while working towards my degree. They organise well-structured on-campus study days, weekly webinars to enhance learning, and access to extensive library resources.
The qualification I am pursuing has improved my performance by providing a theoretical foundation in logistics, warehousing, supply chain analytics, and planning.
