My role includes going into the laboratory and looking at machines that have been called in with errors or problems, i then have to look at these machines and see what needs to be done to repair the machine.
I have learnt lots of hands on skills and furthered my knowledge a lot in the medical engineering perspective. i have also furthered communication skills with customers so that it is clear what is going on to the customer
i enjoy the programme a lot as you are constantly learning new things and interacting with new people, this makes the job very interesting to me as it is always a different thing to be doing and seeing new sites and people etc.
the programme is very well structured and you always know what you need to be doing, if there is ever any problems you have and you are unsure on what you are doing there is always someone who will be able to help out.
there is a lot of support from the employer and if there is ever any issues you can get help very quickly, this ranges from issues on site and needing help on what to do all the way to IT problems at home on your laptops.
i receive a lot of help from my training provider and they always have someone on hand when you are in need of some help.
my qualification helps me in my role by giving me the knowledge of engineering that i am going to need on site to understand how the machines function.
you are allowed a few volunteering days a year to help out in the local or wider area, also you can do events at schools,
Yes
it is a very good company to work for and they look after all of their employees very well, this can be seen with the older engineers who have been with the company for 20 years + also there is lots of progression in the company for everyone.
know what you are going to be getting yourself into and be ready to learn
