My role mainly revolves around assististing the Finance Business Partner with the company control procedures, in respect of food production/stock management/profit protection/monitoring the budget and increasing profit margins. A key part of my role involves completing deliveries received against orders placed on the in-unit trading system in a timely and accurate manner to help close week and month-end, and part of this involves me creating purchase order (PO) logs for the kitchen and back of house, as well as agency for staff and office; including food and beverage, equipment and maintenance orders. I also am responsible for other ad-hoc tasks.
Yes, I have learned how to communicate effectively and the value of key communication in a team. Additionally, I have developed competence in my role as a Finance Assistant through this apprenticeship, and feel confident in dealing with the day to day components of the finance function and accountancy related tasks.
All 4 units were very interesting, albeit challenging but very relevant to the role and the industry.
Very well, from start to finish, everything is communicated and structured very clearly from starting the on point assessment phase to coming towards the end at the end point assessment phase.
Sufficient support is received, and I feel very confident and comfortable in asking questions, which a key role of any apprenticeship - asking lots of questions.
Again, asking questions is invaluable, and there are lots of support and resources available if I had any questions outside of the online classrooms. There are also quarterly progress review calls during the on point assessment phase, in addition to a gateway call ensuring you are ready for the EPA before moving onto it.
You'll find that a lot of what you learn in the course book is relevant to the role, which is absolutely vital and beneficial.
From time to time, I have had the privilege of being invited on work events, outings and trips, where I have been able to network, learn, receive training or just have a nice eye-opening trip.
