  • Wide range of different railway engineering projects, delivering deliverables such as CAD drawings, reports, calculation sheets etc.

  • Learned many new skills, and always opportunities to learn more if you pursue it.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy it a lot, can be very stressful when trying to balance work load and exam/coursework deadlines.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Quite well structured, could do with greater clarity on progression during and after apprenticeship. So apprentices are aware what they need to achieve for promotions etc.

  • Lots of support available in my experience, mainly down to a good line manager.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Had some issues with delays to coursework briefs, lecturer absences, quality of content delivered. Some modules I have had to reteach myself the content after lectures.

  • Good wide range of modules to improve engineering knowledge and skills.

  • Lots of social activities and social events are put on for graduates/apprentices to get together and socialise.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A good company to work for, working on a vast range of projects which aim to improve the quality of life for the public. Lots of opportunities to learn new skills.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arcadis?
  • Read up on the company's values and history, the multi-stage interview process which included an initial interview, group activity, and finally an interview with my now manager. Get involved during the group task.
