Wide range of different railway engineering projects, delivering deliverables such as CAD drawings, reports, calculation sheets etc.
Learned many new skills, and always opportunities to learn more if you pursue it.
I enjoy it a lot, can be very stressful when trying to balance work load and exam/coursework deadlines.
Quite well structured, could do with greater clarity on progression during and after apprenticeship. So apprentices are aware what they need to achieve for promotions etc.
Lots of support available in my experience, mainly down to a good line manager.
Had some issues with delays to coursework briefs, lecturer absences, quality of content delivered. Some modules I have had to reteach myself the content after lectures.
Good wide range of modules to improve engineering knowledge and skills.
Lots of social activities and social events are put on for graduates/apprentices to get together and socialise.
Yes
A good company to work for, working on a vast range of projects which aim to improve the quality of life for the public. Lots of opportunities to learn new skills.
Read up on the company's values and history, the multi-stage interview process which included an initial interview, group activity, and finally an interview with my now manager. Get involved during the group task.
