I am a brand marketing apprentice within Unilever food solutions teams. i deal with changing artwork for our Away From Home products as well and help support with campaigns and supply internal and external teams with samples of our products to help try build our market.
Since starting my project management apprenticeship, i've gained new skills in stakeholder management, risk management time management, networking and adaptability . Through working in a professional environment, i have developed existing skills such as my communication, organisation, team work, problem solving skills.
I have had the best time during my programme, I have met amazing people and have grown massively as an individual. Although there has been some challenges with learning something completely new i have enjoyed it as it has pushed me.
The programme has been well organised well, I have found the college course been excellent the is a lot of support from them. However, I feel as there should be more communication with line managers and tutors to align with what task the apprentices should be doing to exceed.
I believe my employer to be quite supportive however i feel it would be beneficial for more support at the start of my apprenticeship as that it when you are most vulnerable settling into the new role
The training provider is very open to giving support where needed however, it is very apparent that they have limited time due to high amount of apprentices they work with therefore it is hard to get one on one time with them.
i feel very confident that my qualification helps me preform better in my role as it enables me to understand aspect of the work environment that i may not have access to get from actual on job work.
I attended a conference which included all of my team both England and Ireland. which enabled me to develop my networking skills. However, i would like to participate in more in coming future.
