Daily, I get involved with health and safety through observations on-site. Involvement with tracking and monitoring progress on-site. Assist with managing the workforce.
Since working at BAM I have gained a vast amount of construction knowledge and experience which I didn’t have prior to stating. Furthermore, I have gained confidence at presenting and attending meetings through involvement with client meetings, and undertaking morning inductions with new operatives.
So far I have really enjoyed my programme. I like how the studying section is split from the work section. This allowed me to focus on my studies when required to achieve the best I could. Which ultimately means I had less college related load to consider upon returning to site.
The programme is well structured through the split with our studies. The topics we are required to learn is clearly outlined, and assistance is always available from those on-site.
My employer attends regular review meetings with me in relation to my studies, in order for them to assist where possible with topics as I require. Furthermore, they make time in working hours to sit down and help me with reviewing working I have completed.
Overall there has been good support from the training provider in relation to the completion of the HNC. However, I feel like a little more support during the EPA would be helpful.
Completing the qualification helps understand activities at work. This allows me to put what I learn into the real world. Also it has helped me gain an understanding of certain topics I have yet to experience on site.
BAM have a sports and social club which allows employees to play sports such as badminton. Or attend events such as the theatre with work colleagues. Moreover, they promote professional networking events to ensure we all stay connected as a business.
Yes
I would recommend BAM as i believe they are a supportive company, in which they follow their core values in ensuring we are all treated fairly and respectfully.
For those applying for BAM I would advise them to look at the BAM values and see if they align with them. Also, to be themselves as individuality and BAM is always welcome.
