  • Spend a balanced time working within the workshop on machinery and also on bench fitting. Alongside this, we do a lot of written work, mainly researching assignments

  • I have learnt new skills in the workshop on machinery, which I have found to be very fun as I love doing practical work.

  • I enjoy my apprenticeship a lot, mainly the time in workshop. The written work can be challenging, but I know it’s worth it and it is very interesting.

  • It is fairly structure, just can be difficult to get your head around.

  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, there is plenty of help if needed and regular progress reviews.

  • I receive lots of support when working towards qualifications, if I need help at all or find anything challenging, then I can ask and will get help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Very well, I feel that the qualification provides a groundwork for my knowledge and skills when working within the workshop and on assignments. The qualification enables me to work better and provides the exact knowledge and skills I need.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are opportunities to join the apprentice council and become a STEM ambassador if you want to take part in extra-curricular activities.

  • Yes

  • It is an amazing opportunity to work for such a well rounded, top of the field business and would be a mistake not to go for.

  • Make sure it is something you want to do and be confident in your own ability.
