Over the past 5 years I have gained extensive experience managing audits from start to finish, from planning, risk assessments, clearance meetings and post-audit documentation, acting in a senior capacity for the past four years. Clients I have worked on span from livery companies, religious organisations, large multi-academy trusts, colleges, and charities. On a day to day basis this involves leading an audit team, visiting clients on site around various parts of the country, with a focus on providing a smooth service and experience to our clients.
By undertaking a school leaver programme at Buzzacott, I have developed significantly, both as a person, and professionally. Since joining as a fresh 18 year old to now, I have noticed a massive change. I have gained significant experience in audit and accounting, whilst completing both my AAT and ACA alongside working practice.
Buzzacott is a fantastic place to work, particularly joining as a graduate or a school leaver. The firm focuses on it's training and development with a great HR/apprenticeship support team. I joined a team and are surrounded by those in a similar position, and managers who have also once also been in your spot, making them extremely understanding of the pressures you may face, around exam periods.
The structure and focus from the learning and development team is the best part about my role at Buzzacott. The process is organised, structured and with continuing support throughout. At Buzzacott you do not feel like just a 'number', the team help tailor your programme to you, and support any personal needs you may have individually. I couldn't fault our learning and development team.
As mentioned above, Buzzacott provides support in all aspects without fail. Continuing catch up's from a range of people, HR team members, the learning and development team, line managers, mentors, and the fact the team around you are all going through the same experience, really makes you feel extra supported.
First intuition are great, you get allocated a specific mentor to guide you through and provide support.
The ACA directly supports my role as an audit associate, seeing similarities in most aspects, it works in synergy.
Over my time at Buzzacott I have been involved in various sports teams such as the run club and the netball team. Buzzacott also provides a wide range of regular social events and networks for all to get involved in. Buzzacott is a very sociable firm.
