I set up pipe spools to be welded and sent to be fit
I have learnt a variation of new skill including how to use various machines and how to set up pipework
I would say I enjoy what I do on a day to day basis
I would say there is good organisation in part but there is a lack of organisation in others where information is not passed on properly leaving people in the dark
My employer would support me if I brought forward any issues to their attention
The training provider struggle to support for a number of reasons the main being an issue with a low number of staff, in the 3 years of college i have completed 1st year there was one lesson with no cover, 2nd year there were two missing and there is also two missing in 3rd year meaning we don't learn the subject properly as we are rushing to complete the exams in time
Some of the things we learn aren't exactly applicable to my role but we have to learn them to complete the qualification but some of them do seem like a waste of time
There is an apprenticeship council which i am a part of
Yes
I do believe it is a good place to work especially in terms of benefits
The application process can take a while and be quite confusing but stick with it
