My role consists of identifying inefficiencies in the Supply Chain and using data to drive business decisions. We also implement automated solutions and new projects to improve business performance. Liaise with stakeholders to identify issues, propose solutions and measure success.
Yes, I have learned lots about data fundamentals and there is a lot of very useful skills for processing and transforming big data coming up in the near future. Masterclasses are also available for popular data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Alteryx, which are of incredible use for me.
I very much enjoy the programme. We use Adobe Connect for live webinar sessions which is a really useful application because it allows for downloads, presentations, live chat and the Tutor's webcam feed all in one place! I enjoy the engaging questions presented during these webinars. Also, the portal is very user friendly and makes for a pleasurable learning experience.
It's very well structured with Key Topics in webinars, an organised portal for self-learning, scheduled webinars and regular catch-ups with managers within Aldi and with the BPP coach.
We receive a lot of support from the business, and they always ensure we are doing ok and can keep up with everything. This can be very difficult during busy periods, but Aldi understands very well and does their utmost to distribute workload when I need to catch up with more self-learning! Aldi have been incredible in not only sourcing this apprenticeship, but allowing for time, support, addressing concerns and providing optimism! The skills learned in this apprenticeship are very transferrable to our work.
BPP are very supportive with everything. They address any questions or concerns promptly and provide key contacts for different topics. The training provider is very helpful.
Due to the sheer volume of data that must be processed at Aldi, this training helps me perform so much better! Not just learning new tips, tricks, methods and skills, but also learning more about regulations and best practice for managing data.
There are sports teams and we have a sports day, and sometimes there are some director challenges. I don't know if it could be considered a professional networking event, but we do have a 'Coffee Roulette' where they allow for some time out of our day's to meet a random colleague and go for coffee which is great to meet new people and learn about them and their role.
Yes
Aldi is a fantastic employer. The work is meaningful and has a purpose. They focus on developing their current staff and this really works well. The working culture is very friendly and hard-working. People are very deserving of their positions. Directors are all very friendly, approachable and are often interested in our work which contributes to a great working environment.
Be prepared to manage a lot of work! Get ready to learn many new skills! Be friendly, do not be afraid to ask questions. Focus on learning. Think of the bigger picture and identify opportunities where things can be improved. Talk about key metrics and be yourself, but professional!
