  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At the start of the day we have a team briefing about stats and whats expected of us. Through Monday to Thursday we then spend the rest of the day taking calls with support of our team leader, coach and floor walker. We do receive coaching and feedback on our calls from our leader or coach.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since starting the apprenticeship, I can confidentially say that my social skills have definitely improved in person and when dealing with customers over the phone.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Due to a big change in jobs I found the learning curve at the start was quite steep, but with the support of my team mates, leader, coach and floor walkers I can say that I do enjoy my programme a great deal.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Every break, meeting, brief, start/end times are clearly stated on our rotas. We can also change when are breaks are depending if we are on a call or not.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My team leader and coach have given me a great deal of support and they are very understanding. Both professionally and personally.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our call are recorded and listened to, we then receive feedback about the call journey. Also they have made it very clear that they are open to people requesting coaching.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • We are given the time to research the company as part of our training. This also includes expanding our product and service knowledge which is very helpful on calls.

  • Yes

  • I feel as if it is a great and positive work environment, with many support outlets and further opportunities.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • During the training for the role, don't be discouraged for seeking help and guidance. People here are very happy to support you.
