  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a business transformation consultant which consists of helping clients transform their processes and make their workforce more efficient. I am currently on the future leaders apprenticeship hosted by Henley Business School. My weeks consist of client, apprenticeship and internal work for Capgemini, this all feeds in to my programme with Henley and helps me to apply the skills I am learning on the programme. Internally I lead the early and emerging talent committee in my team where I manage around 15-20 people working on initiatives my team and I have created. I have worked across many different projects across different sectors.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a lot of skills so far in analysis and strategic frameworks to help me understand the wider Capgemini landscape. Specifically, I have learnt a lot about value and what it really means outside of just pricing, this has meant that I am able to understand what matters to my client more and how I can adapt my day to day work to make sure I am delivering the most value.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have thoroughly enjoyed my programme so far - I found it difficult initially to fit everything in, but Capgemini have supported us massively in helping us adapt and learn how to manage our time with the programme. The quality of the content and the bespoke topics that capgemini have worked to produce is immensely helpful and I cant wait to see what skills I deliver going forward.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well, we are the first cohort doing this specific programme and they have been sure to check in with us regularly and make sure what they have produced is working for every individual. They have been accommodating and understanding of the impact that the course has on our day to day lives which has made the transition super smooth.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel very supported on my programme, I have my line manager who is well educated in what I am doing, I have my mentor who helps me with anything I need around my assignments and my understanding of Capgemini. I have found that the programme leads on the Capgemini side have been so happy to help and make sure I am getting a good experience.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that so far it has really helped me understand the "why" to a lot of what I do, it makes me consider my decisions and has helped me understand how I impact the wider organisation. It has already started to equip me with the leadership skills I will need to succeed in a company like Capgemini.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, I lead, plan and attend a monthly event for my team which they gladly fund for us so that we can get that in person interaction in this post covid world. There is a netball team at work that is smashing it in their league. I had the opportunity last year to lead on the organisation of the Early and Emerging Talent Summer Conference which was an in person day full of talks, workshops and networking events for the apprentices and graduates at Capgemini.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Capgemini to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The culture is the main thing that keeps me here, I feel truly supported in everyway and I have achieved more than I ever could have imagined in my first few years at the company. Capgemini is a wonderful company that deserves recognition for how much hard work it puts into its people.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Capgemini?
  • I would suggest being as authentic as possible, they care about you as a person - it is really obvious when you try and be something you're not so I would just suggest being as authentic as possible and being true to yourself when applying.
