I work in the Learning and Development team at Lifeways. My role mainly involves overseeing the onboarding process for new starters, making sure they’re booked onto induction and their training is set up correctly. I manage a small team and support them day-to-day with their tasks, queries, and any issues that come up. I also help managers across the business with any training-related questions or problems, and make sure everything is kept up to date on our Learning Management System to stay compliant. I’m often checking reports, dealing with emails and making sure training sessions are running smoothly.
Yes, I’ve definitely developed my existing skills and picked up some new ones. Since starting my apprenticeship, I’ve improved my confidence, especially in managing workload and prioritising tasks. I’ve also become more aware of how I lead my team and how I can adapt my approach depending on the situation or the person. I’m more reflective now and better at handling difficult conversations or giving feedback in the right way. I’ve also improved how I plan ahead and manage time more effectively, both for myself and my team.
I am really enjoying the programme so far. It’s helped me reflect on how I work and has given me a better understanding of my strengths and where I can improve. I’ve found some parts challenging but in a good way and I can see how the learning links to my role. It’s been great to apply what I’m learning straight away and see the difference it makes.
The programme is well organised and easy to follow. I know what’s expected and when things are due, which helps me plan around my workload. The sessions are spaced out well and the support is there when I need it. Everything is clear and I’ve been able to keep on track with my learning.
I receive good support from my employer. My manager checks in regularly and gives me time to focus on my apprenticeship when needed. I’m encouraged to apply what I’m learning in my day-to-day role and I feel supported if I need to talk about my progress or ask for help.
I receive strong support from my training provider. My tutor is easy to contact and always helpful with any questions I have. The feedback is clear and I’m given guidance on how to improve. I feel like I’m supported throughout the programme and not left to figure things out on my own.
I feel that my qualification is helping me perform better in my role. It’s made me think more about how I work, how I lead my team and how I can improve. It’s given me more confidence and helped me to understand the bigger picture. I can already see positive changes in how I manage tasks and support others.

Yes, I would recommend Lifeways to a friend. It’s a supportive place to work with lots of opportunities to learn and grow. There’s a real focus on helping others and making a difference and I feel valued in my role. I’ve also had good support from my manager and team which makes a big difference.
I would say be open-minded, patient, and ready to learn. Lifeways is a rewarding place to work but it can be fast-paced, so staying organised and asking questions when you’re unsure really helps. Take the time to understand the values and the people we support and don’t be afraid to get involved – there’s lots of support available if you need it.
