Day-to-day I work on and manage client facing work, this can include liaising with legal & client teams on complex and sometimes international projects.
I have developed my professional skills including communication, collaboration, problem solving, and professional networking. I have learnt several technical skills including legal drafting, document management, financial management, creating bespoke project plans and tools, and data analysis.
I have enjoyed the overall experience and felt I have gained great opportunities and support from the DLA Piper team.
The Programme is structured into yearly rotations with a chance to review progress every 6 months. This has allowed me to gain a wealth of experience from across different areas of the firm and enhance my overall project management skills.
I partake in regular meetings with my direct line manager, the early careers team and other members of my team. With everyone willing to answer any questions I may have.
I have a meeting with my skills coach every 8 weeks to discuss overall progress. My skills coach also is very responsive via email should any other queries arise. The training provider also holds weekly office hour sessions which run in a Q&A format and holds advice sessions following a draft submission
I have gained theoretical knowledge on project management practices which has allowed me to use them in my day-to-day work. The theory also gives a base understanding of the next steps in a project.
I have been involved with several charity events, raising money for our office charity. I have also been involved in several social events within the team
