I am an SAP Basis consultant working at Capgemini as a Degree apprentice. Day to Day my team will ensure the SAP environment is running smoothly helping to fix any issues other teams may be having and patching different systems to make sure they are up to date.
I have learned a great deal of new skills surrounding how to operate different tasks in the SAP environment such as patching etc.
I have found the people to be very helpful always offering to provide support and offer new opportunities when they have presented themselves. This mix of gaining professional expertise, learning and meeting new people has been very enjoyable for me so far.
I have had some difficulty picking up certain roles in my team due to needing SC clearance which has held me back from progressing, however my team has been amazing at helping me counter act this and still keep me busy.
Most of the time i am sat with somebody or support is offered since im still learning, so i would say i am massively supported.
most of the time i am left to myself since i find its mostly independent learning but my team etc are allways happy to give help if needed.
Alot of the skills and tools that i have used during my university work has actually transferred over directly into my work such as coding or figma etc. Some courses though i feel have less of an impact.
Yes i have already applied to some social activities, joined a board game club, gone to networking events in london and Worthing for apprentices and join extra teams for more work such as Tooling or global public sector ambassador.
Yes
really great at kick starting a career, such people focused so i always feel valued and offer so many opportunities to help people grow.
Focus on being genuine and having a strong work ethic when applying. It really does matter and allthough having qualifications is nice, at capgemini we want to see someone who is driven and wants to learn and those skills can go a long way.
