My role is Cost-Base Project Control. The tasks associated with this role include; Stakeholder Management, Budget forecasting and quarterly reforecasting, management of demand (in FTE equivalents), management of financial resources and financial caps, managing relationships with budget holders and the finance function
The new skills I have developed is an understanding of resource management and how important it is to the project lifecycle. The impact of poorly managed resources can hinder project success.
I enjoy the programme a great deal as I feel listened too and supported from my placement and the wider early careers team
The programme is quite well organised, there isn't much room for improvement other than streamlining communications out more
I receive a great deal of support from my employer
I receive a good amount of support from the training provider
it helps provide the background knowledge on the "why". why are things following a certain process etc
There are lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved in. There are clubs, sports teams, socials and networking events regularly taking place
Yes
They support you in whatever role you are in, they help you work towards your goals and personal objectives.
The advice I would give to others applying to BAE Systems is to provide examples of when you have not only achieved success but overcome a challenge and how the experience has benefitted you. Don't be disheartened if you don't get the role. Keep applying
