  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves supporting my line manager (a senior PM) in a range of different activities that allow projects to progress through the different stages. I am involved with a range of technical, commercial, management and admin tasks that are crucial for a project to make it through governance stages.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been able to develop a number of skills including communication, teamwork and leadership while also being able to learn new skills such as risk management and commercial skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I thoroughly enjoy my programme as it gives me an opportunity to develop key skills that I am able to carry with me in my future career. My programme also allows me to learn the theory side that is not offered by a regular job.

  • My programme has been structured in a way that allows me to build on my learning at university through applying some of the knowledge into my day job.

  • If i ever have a concern or a question, my employer has always provided me with a sufficient answer.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Similarly, my training provider has always helped me, whether that be in the weekly lectures or in my Training Provider Review.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that my qualification makes more of what I do and hear in my role easier, as I am able to apply my new knowledge into my workplace

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • there are a large number of professional networks at my company that anyone can be apart of, they hold meetings regularly and come together to discuss any issues that anyone may have.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Thames Water to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Everyone is welcoming and always there to offer any assistance when needed, but you are also given your own time to complete tasks given to you without anyone constantly looking over your shoulder. The people are lovely and are always wanting you to do the best job possible,


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Thames Water?
  • Make sure you are confident in your abilities, because you are able to learn about the work being done quickly here. Make sure that you are always open to taking on more work as it is the best way to grow into this role.
