  • I work as a data engineer for my organisation, focusing on building robust reporting pipelines, supporting data storage systems such as our Data Warehouse and enforcing standards within our relational database management systems (RDBMS). The wider team I work for, Data and Analytics, ensure data flows securely from source systems whilst taking precautions against data breaches, maintaining data integratory as a single source of truth and supporting analytics to drive data-driven decisions

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, during the course we have been analysing data security, what constitutes robust data infrastructure and how to enhance best practice. We have submitted written projects and brushed up on critical degree level writing. The content has also encouraged me to critically assess the systems and protocols we have in place as a company , developing my understanding of why we have such security procedures.

  • I have enjoyed the course so far and i find it both interesting and a huge help in my daily role. It is giving me a solid foundation for career development.

  • The program is exceptionally well-structured, offering a balanced blend of course content, interactive learning modules, and live sessions. Each module is clearly outlined with detailed learning objectives, making it easy to follow and stay on track. The online courses are self-paced, which allows me to learn at a speed that suits my schedule, while the live lectures provide valuable real-time interaction with instructors and peers, enhancing the overall learning experience.

  • Yes my employer is very supportive and understands that i have taken the course on in addition to my everyday job. The support I receive from my employer has been excellent and plays a significant role in my progress towards completing my qualification. My employer, Motability Operations provides clear guidance and regular check-ins, ensuring that I have a structured development plan in place. They’ve been proactive in offering time during work hours for me to dedicate to studying, which shows their commitment to my growth and allows me to balance work and learning effectively.

  • The support I receive from my training provider has been comprehensive and very helpful in helping me work towards my qualifications. The provider offers regular one-on-one mentoring sessions, where I can discuss any challenges or areas of confusion related to the coursework. This personalized support is invaluable for me, as it allows me to get targeted feedback and guidance.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The technical skills I’ve learned have enabled me to streamline processes, analyse data more effectively, and solve problems faster. The practical application of these concepts during the training has made me confident in using them to tackle real-world scenarios in my role. Additionally, the critical thinking and problem-solving techniques I’ve gained through the program have helped me approach challenges with a more strategic mindset. I’m able to break down complex issues into manageable steps and implement solutions more proactively.

  • Yes there are lots of different things available and it is an excellent forward thinking company. Activities range from coffee mornings, fun runs, yoga, fantasy football, board game clubs and so on. There is something for everyone if one wishes and Motability Operations have always excelled in the way they treat their staff.

The company fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, where employees are encouraged to grow both professionally and personally. The culture is inclusive, and there’s a strong focus on employee development, with access to continuous learning and training opportunities, which I find incredibly valuable. I have been here for ten years and it has given me superb opportunities.

  • Be yourself. The company values its employees and truly wants the right people in the right roles with ample opportunity for future development. The company look to foster a supportive culture and want nice but capable employees to carry the vision forward.
