As a Technology Consultant in AI, my key responsibilities include regular client engagement to ensure seamless collaboration and effective solution delivery. I conduct research to inform solution design, driving excellence. Additionally, I contribute to the codebase through software development, with a specialised focus on artificial intelligence and its applications.
I have gained a wide range of industry skills. I have developed expertise in client-facing interactions, which have helped me to effectively succeed in my role. Additionally, I have significantly improved my technical skills, with a strong focus on programming, artificial intelligence, and technical design.
I excel in challenging environments, and I am a life-long learner. I really enjoy learning on the job and through acamedic resources at the same time.
My program is well-structured, but I have encountered some challenges in aligning the apprenticeship learning modules with my role at IBM. The nature of consultancy, which often involves varied and dynamic projects, can make it difficult to maintain a consistent role or responsibilities. As a result, I have had to be flexible and adapt my learning to meet the evolving demands of my job, while still working to achieve the programs learning objectives.
I am fortunate to receive substantial support from my IBM, which has been key to my growth and development throughout the apprenticeship program.
I receive a fair amount of support throughout the program. Northeastern University has assigned Success Managers to each apprentice, providing individualised guidance to ensure a smooth progression through the program. Additionally, the tutors are readily available to offer on-demand support during each course.
As my role is directly related to data science, the knowledge and skills I've gained through the program have been relevant and applicable.
There are a wide range of extra curricular activities that employees can engage in at IBM, and participation in these activities is highly encouraged by the company.
Yes
I would greatly recommend IBM to a friend. The company provides a dynamic environment that fosters significant professional and personal growth. However, it is essential to note that unlocking these opportunities requires a proactive and adaptable mindset, as well as a can-do attitude.
If you are fortunate enough to be selected for an interview, be sure to showcase your personality and highlight your soft skills and communication abilities, in addition to your coding and technical skills. This will help you stand out as a well-rounded candidate. Furthermore, I would like to recommend IBM SkillsBuild, a valuable platform that offers free training and development opportunities to anyone interested. Taking advantage of these resources in your free time not only enhances your skills but also demonstrates your initiative and commitment to potential employers, making your CV even more attractive.
