  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • So far we have been learning the knowledge side of the job within college , doing a lot of theory work and course work and exams but with college there hasn’t been many tutours so we have missed alot of hours of learning

  • I have previously done electrical work so I have just got my skills back up to there best but have learnt somet things within the theory side of things within health and safety and stuff like that for example

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy it but I think with college not having tutors it can make the days very long and we can miss out on lots of learning due to this , I enjoy the lessons we do have though.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Within the BAE side of things the programme is very well set out and they keep us up to date and are clear with that side of the programme where as Furness college side has let it down as they don’t seem very organised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Lots , I have spoken to them when needed and any questions or queries they always give me an answer and have supported me massively

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Not enough in my opinion we have done exams with only learning certain things for a few hours and rushing exams to get stuff done as we have missed out on tutors multiple times

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I think there is just as we are in college there isn’t much we can do more but the company offers lots of extra things you can do within the business and outside it .

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a massive company to work for , you have lots of career opportunities and the company will always look after you and I say it’s a job for life massively and is a very good company to work for.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • Make sure to be yourself , confident and also do some research on the behaviours needed for a BAE Employee
