  • assistant general manager, responsible for looking after the site, teams and guest experience, rotas, marketing, health and safety, ordering and stock inventory, meeting labour spend requirements and guest expectation scores. training the team, cascading information to teams, setting up and running shifts, dealing with complaints, performance issues, recruitment

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • so far alot of the programme covers material i have been doing for a long time but i have developed new techniques relating to time management, and changing the way i communicate with others to match their learning styles etc

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i found a fair chunk of the programme covering aspects of the role i am already very familiar with e.g. recruitment etc but its enjoyable to have a better understanding and background behind different theories and techniques

  • i really enjoy the structure of the programme being broken down into weekly modules and leaving time/space for further research

  • i always get the time to do my work and the opportunity to undertake new tasks to help with my otj hours

  • aptem is pretty consistent, i think the support tutors are engaging but maybe have a lot of learners to look after

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • for me i feel it has been more of a mindset change and giving more information to improve on skills rather than a huge amount of new information due to being in a management role for 10 years i have covered quite a fair bit through experience in role

  • we host marketing activities to engage with local communities and support people with career development e.g. school visits etc

  • Yes

  • i believe the company is doing the right thing at heart for communities and the teams that work for them, the hours are flexible, benefits are good and the company is very diverse for career development opportunites
