I am on the Unilever R&D apprentice scheme working in the Refreshment category as part of a project team looking into ice cream micro structure.
Recently completed my HNC Chemistry (year 1&2) and am now studying towards my BSc Chemistry (year 3 to 5). My personal and professional skills are constantly been developed through both work experience and university commitments.
I find the Unilever R&D apprentice scheme extremely enjoyable, each day is different and i'm always learning something new! I work within a close team who are all very supportive.
I feel very valued, my team are always willing to help either with work queries or university questions. I also have a 'buddy' in the chemistry department to aid my university learning when i'm unsure about something.
The program well organised with a buddy and mentoring system. A rotation program is currently being developed to enable apprentices to learn more about other parts of the Refreshment business.
I am studying part time with Greenwich University and attend university once a week. They are supportive of our flexible learning environment and always just an email away.
Unilever are very supportive of both my university study and my career development. Everyone within my team is willing to help and guide me through any questions I may have.
Our salary is competitive and increases each year dependent on performance. Unilever fully covers all our university costs, including travel and expenses.
Unilever actively supports volunteering and community projects. As an apprentice team we have participated in many challenges and fundraising events.
