  • Building relationships with both customers and operatives. Managing client and operative expectations. Communicating to the operatives the projects tasks. Ensuring the correct health & safety measure are in place for the project to be undertaken. Providing the correct plant and equipment to the operatives on site.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Built on communicating with different people and the art of communicating to people with different expectations. Time / project management, ensuring the correct balance is spent on site communicating and building relationships with operatives and combining this with managing multiple projects at different sites.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Great enjoyment out of quoting, managing and finishing the project. Opportunity to build relationships with people inside and outside the business. Every project undertaken is different . The flexibility day to day to plan your own week and make you're own decisions regarding time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Clear management structure in place to help with the development at the Management trainee programme. Clear route for progressing and learning with targets set for every 6 months.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support from colleagues who have been through the same process and programme as you. Great support from the leaders of the management trainee programme who will answer any questions you have. Support from any contracts manager to help when pricing works or running jobs.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • You receive a wide variety of support at Bagnall's whether this be from external sources such as college courses or training programmes. Support is also readily available internally at Bagnall's with your own office helping to offer support as well as other offices being able to help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through the training programme, it has allowed me to gain more confidence when onsite with clients to guide them to make sure we are able to provide the service they require when pricing the job. It also helps to build relationships with operatives and come together as a team to meet deadlines and clients expectations.

  • There are opportunities to get involved with networking events within the company such as the management trainee conference and the Bagnall's academy.

  • Very enjoyable company to work for. It was a very family friendly culture built from the top down. There is always someone available to help and support you whatever the issue.
