I assist with the planning and execution of ceremonies and events at Wakefield council and the Registration service.
Yes I have learnt plenty of new skills since starting this apprenticeship and upskilling some of my others such as my confidence, organisation and team working skills.
I mostly enjoy my programme as it has taught me also these new skills and given me so many new opportunities but I find it can sometimes be very data based and my journey to starting this apprenticeship hasn't been the smoothest.
Good, it is my managers that keep my work structured and up to practise and they also are on hand when I need something else to cover or learn.
I have regular meeting with the employer team to make sure I am staying on the right track and if I need to raise anything with them. So I feel supported in the fact they are there if I need them.
My tutor from my training provider is very helpful and is always ready to listen to my questions if I need to but it can be a bit hard to get a hold of them when I need to.
I haven't finished this apprenticeship yet but the work I'm doing for my qualification if making me me understand what I am doing at work more and opening my eyes to the world of events to fit into my life/work.
Yes my team at work and Wakefield council's apprenticeship constantly contact me with extra curricular opportunities and things to get involved in. For example I am attending an apprenticeship of the year course .
Yes
It means you have a very secure and stable job but also they will make sure you are enjoying what you are doing too. They are very supportive and try push you to be the best version in your role as you can be.
The enrolment process can take a long time and there is also a lot of apprentices starting at the same time so be patient and be confident in asking questions so you can get your voice heard as there will be plenty of other people around you.
