My role is an early years educator which involves supporting children in their development and supporting transitions into school. I support children in physical care routines and assess the development of children through activities and observations. I work closely with parents and external professionals such as physical therapists and local authorities.
Yes, I have learnt new ways to teach children through play where a big part of this is observing the children's interests. I have developed my communication skills and confidence when working with parents and staff to provide the best care for children.
I strongly enjoy my programme as I am able to learn at my own pace and able to receive support when needed. I am also provided well with recourses I can access any time which helps to improve my practice.
My programme is well organised and there is a clear structure to my course. I am able to see any outstanding work as well as topics which need to be completed.
I receive a good amount of support form my employer when they can. Due to being qualified and short staffed on some days, it can be difficult to plan for study time, however when a free space arises I am given time to study.
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider as they are with me every step through my course with monthly catchups and being contactable through the months.
Everything I have learnt I am able to use in my practice to support and improve my skills and knowledge. My training provider gives me access to resources for further learning which I am able to apply to my practice.
