The variety of work is thrilling and the work is very hands-on. Opportunities for progression are amazing with graduation to Caseworker after two years as an Apprentice. The role involves conduct of casework from start to finish with supervision. Guidance and support is always available.
I am grateful to have gained an incredible variety of skills ranging from drafting legal submissions to issuing claims and preparing for trials, to advocacy. The opportunity to be trained and entrusted with legal work so early on is rare and invaluable for a high flying career in law.
I am deeply passionate about our sector of work and my programme and the support which is available and readily offered to me at the firm is something which I always appreciate. The firm is not only enthusiastic about training you but also about investing in you and your long term growth.
The programme is structured to allow apprentices a day of study leave per week. The firm I work at is especially enthusiastic about allowing apprentices the time they need to thrive in their studies, and offers an extra 14 days of study leave which is always appreciated.
I receive a lot of support from my employer both in terms of work and welfare. We have an Employee Assistance Programme and an 'open door policy' which makes management very approachable. The environment is open and kind.
The training provider provides an additional 14 days of study leave in addition to the set study days per week which is very much appreciated by all of us! It is also very helpful as my training provider regularly reminds me to take uninterrupted time off to study.
On a daily basis it is very hands-on but always with guidance and supervision which is excellent for growth, learning and preparing to have a very fulfilling career.
Networking events such as webinars and social events at Chambers are regularly circulated with encouragement to attend as these are incredibly useful both for training and making contacts. We also have very fun team building days!
