  • On a day to day basis i create lots of financial reports, project plans and deliver customer calls, ensuring the project team i am working in, is on track, meeting the quality requirements and within budget. Alongside my day to day tasks i get opportunities to work with other teams such as engineers, risk management, procurement and quality assurance, giving me a large oversight of the endless possibilities and how the project runs within a bigger picture.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have recieved great support from my employer, when having person issues arise in my life my employer supported me through the hard time, giving me time off whilst still allowing me to keep the job and not fall behind in my studies or work. • From our training provider we attend university one day a week during term times which is where the module content is delivered, we have daily access to our lecturers if we need anything from them with a 24 hour reply period and have great library and facilities to utilise to help us. • There are many social aspects of work, we have early career socials which we do once a month, sometimes being a big lunch together or an evening out, and there are many wider work team socials such as when visiting different sites we have meals out and occasionally go and do something such as mini golf, we have Christmas and summer work party where you can network with an even wider community and there are many sports teams to join within the company.

  • 9a. Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I believe the way we are valued, the support we receive and the opportunities given to us are amazing and would be hard to find elsewhere especially with the share schemes and pension schemes alongside work. I have found my first 2 years very enjoyable, rewarding and from day one have felt like a valued member of each team I've been in giving me a great sense of community and actually enjoy going to work everyday.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
  • My main tip would be yourself, you don't need great grades or need to know everything, as long as you can show you are determined and willing to try hard, BAE will be more than happy to bring you on the journey and work alongside to develop your skills and knowledge to make you great in whatever field you choose.
