Assistant engineer role, so assisting team with tasks that I have been assigned by manager. Interact with team and managers within team, but also in contact with engineers across company. Currently designing components for future boats on international projects
Loads of new skills that I never would have gained if not for starting this apprenticeship. I had an engineering mindset but not the skills or knowledge to back that up. Now I have the correct knowledge that I have only gained through working in an engineering environment, with knowledge from university to back it up
Training provider was very hit and miss as to quality of teaching/modules. At work i have completed many placements that seem to be time fillers rather than directly engineering related. Through all years I have felt under supported from work. however, gaining degree and uni work was fun through the struggles. Have met great people along the way.
Varied a lot depending on which professor/module it was
