  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am the Ward Coordinator for a Stroke Rehab Ward at the Fryatt hospital. I do daily administrative, clerical, audit, stores, reception and coordinating duties. This involves everything to support the nurses, patients and ward manager in getting the job done.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I am currently doing a Chartered Business Management degree apprenticeship through the ESNEFT NHS. I can say that I currently have learned to do academic writing and refresh my knowledge in business management subjects which used to be my finished degree many years ago.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have very engaging ang supportive teachers which makes the programme easier and enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We can see our modules a week or two in advance every start of the term on the Institute moodle learning site. This includes time schedules, learning expectations and dates of exams or homework deadlines. This helps us time manage our current jobs alongside our learning and make sure we send the best work we can do.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is very supportive and helpful. I get apprenticeship days and 1:1 reviews booked off current work rota with no problem.

  • Knowledge is beneficial to any job so active learning will be good for myself at my current or future role.

  • We have occasional meet ups with work colleagues.
