I currently work in the new business team with the aircraft programmes engineering services business area. Our day-to-day role is all surrounding the company's current resource and to ensure we have enough people to conduct all current demand efficiently.
In this role I believe I have developed a lot of new skills as well as enhancing existing ones. For example, I feel as though I have enhanced the following: communication skills, problem solving, leadership, confidence, excel competence, etc...
I thoroughly enjoy the scheme that I am on as it provides me with the opportunity to gain vital skills and experience from the workplace as well as gaining a honours degree from the university side, all at the same time.
I feel very valued by BAE systems, from my scheme leads to each and every manager and team that I have worked in. Everyone provides support as and when needed and everyone is friendly and helpful.
The scheme has now been running for 7 years and so it has quite a well developed structure, which is followed by every year that joins the company. Any amendments to the current structure are communicated well and all documents are adjusted accordingly.
There is always the opportunity for support from the provider, ranging from on and off the job training if needed to the degree side of things at university.
Similar to the response above, there is always support there if needed and it is a simple phone call or email away. Whether it be for personal development or just a chat to catch up on progress, it is always there.
The salary that BAE Systems provide is extremely competitive and provides me with a very good standard of living. For my age, I believe that the salary I receive is incredible.
There is always opportunities to get involved with outside of work. Whether it be to visit a school to give a presentation on the company or even attending events that are sponsored by the company. Providing that you show willing to get involved, you will be.
Yes
BAE Systems is a great place to work with a good working culture that supports you through your career and development. The salaries that are giving by BAE are extremely competitive and with combination with other benefits that the company gives, it makes it a great place to work.
Make sure that you know the company well and have researched the area that you will be applying for. Having knowledge of the company and area shows that you are enthusiastic and eager to get involved in the company, which comes across very well to internal employees.
