As a Team Leader, I oversee a team of six individuals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their career aspirations while ensuring their day-to-day performance aligns with our organizational goals. I actively coach my team members, focusing on their professional development and driving continuous improvements in their roles. I also prioritize quality assurance, maintaining high standards of performance and accuracy. In addition to managing internal team dynamics, I foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. I am committed to identifying opportunities for process optimization, both through streamlining manual workflows and implementing technological advancements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Over the past 8 years with First Response Finance Ltd, I have gained a wealth of new skills and continuously developed both personally and professionally. These experiences have allowed me to successfully transition into new roles and explore different departments within the company, significantly contributing to my career progression.
During my program from 2016 to 2019, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The diverse range of topics, engaging lectures, and the new relationships I built were all highlights. Most importantly, I found great value and enjoyment in applying the knowledge I gained directly to my workplace, which enhanced both my personal and professional growth.
The course was really well-organised and structured, with clear expectations from both my workplace and the university.
I received all the support I needed whenever required, whether from my manager, the learning and support team, my workplace mentor, or anyone else who could assist me.
While I received strong support from my workplace, the support from my university was lacking in certain areas. Specifically, the availability of my course mentor and lecturers, as well as the response time to emails, could have been better. I understand this was partly due to the large number of students the lecturers had to support and their responsibilities as working professionals with expertise in areas like Marketing and Continuous Improvement.
My qualification has greatly enhanced my performance by providing me with a solid understanding of key areas such as Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Accounting, and Continuous Improvement, along with a particularly valuable Personal Development module that ran over the three years. This theoretical knowledge has enabled me to effectively apply what I’ve learned in practice.
Yes, I get involved in a lot of social activities with the friends I have made at work, usually after hours or on weekends. For example, we often go out for dinner or enjoy walks in the countryside.
Yes
I would definitely recommend First Response Finance Limited to a friend, especially the Degree Apprenticeship program. The course offers a vast amount of knowledge, and the opportunity to put it into practice helps you develop both personally and professionally. The support provided by First Response Finance is invaluable, and the welcoming, supportive culture makes a real difference. Additionally, the focus on continued self-development after the course is a great.
The key is to be yourself. If you are willing to learn and grow, have a strong work ethic, and stay organised, then this could be the right path for you!
