Writing C code and using the Ansys SCADE Suite to create graphical user systems.
I have learnt a lot, C, C++, python, Project management, time management, working as part of a team, etc. I also further developed my skills in C#, SQL, PowerShell, note taking.
I have enjoyed the programme very much, UCLAN has been a bit lacking but this has been countered by the vast amount of experience I have gained in the workplace. Being surrounded by knowledgeable people helps the learning process immensly.
The apprenticeship went very smoothly, finishing the diploma on time. The degree has been more stressful due to bad timetabling by UCLAN causing multiple assignments to be due within a short time span. 7 assignments in 4 weeks. Not easy.
Support at BAE Systems is fantastic, unending support when it is needed and the ability to work how you need to.
UCLAN, while they try to support their students, falls short. In final year, with a project supervisor this support increased immensely.
Without my degree I am not sure I could complete the work in my role. C is not exactly easy to read if you don't know what you are looking for.

BAE Systems is great, the ability to earn a wage while gaining my degree and a diploma on top is fantastic.
Don't be afraid to say you don't know something, make sure to do your research on the company before completing your application and structure that in to show the reader you are interested in the company itself.
