Currently I work on the maintenance and creation of algorithms, using version control and code reviews, working within a team.
I have further developed my python programming ability throughout work and university. I have learnt more about software engineering as a whole through university, and I have developed my team working ability throughout work.
I really enjoy my placement work, but the university isn't typically enjoyable.
Structured well, but due to a recent change in programme still perfecting the finer details.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer any difficulties I have. I feel my feedback is taken into account and changes are made from it, and plenty of support is provided during placement.
Receive a good amount of support on academic writing and content of assignments, however the feedback of the assignments can sometimes be rather lacklustre.
I don't find the university work applies well to my role within the company.
I haven't participated in many extra-curricular activities, apart from a MATLAB conference which was very valuable, but they have been available.
Yes
I think the variety of experience the company provides would be invaluable to anyone's career, with the wealth of knowledge in BAE Systems being so large.
Make sure you learn about the company and the company behaviours.
