My role is integrated as part of the Ipswich Spinal Hub working along a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists and nursing staff to provide care and management to patients with spinal cord injuries
My skills have developed from an unqualified role progressing to a qualified position delivering assessment, treatment and management of spinal cord injuries
I am thoroughly enjoying the experience and being able to work alongside education has made the process affordable
The programme is highly organised and the structure of the entire programme was made available prior to starting the apprenticeship to allow planning around placements and university contact time
My employer has supported me throughout the process and has been very approachable to ask questions or express any difficulties I may be facing
My training provider has supported throughout, is easily contactable and provides extensive resources to enable learning
My training is providing the theoretical bases underpinning what I am doing throughout my role to better understand the what, why and how to progress my development
There are currently limited activities to get involved with
