Running shifts, running either running front counter or kitchen. Completing travel paths. Presenting out PR and PPR. Making sure everything is set up and ready for the day/shift. I also complete HIG chats(how it going). I also have to keep an eye on the financial side of the business as well, for example; labour.
Yes, I have learnt more about different types of coaching skills and have been able to apply them into work, which has been helpful in certain situations. I have also learnt about management styles and that there will always be different types that you will use depending on the situation you are in.
Really enjoy the programme; it is giving me the chance to expand my knowledge and develop me professionally and personally. Being giving time to complete it during work is also a huge help and getting the support that is needed makes the programme more enjoyable I would recommend this apprenticeship to anyone.
It is very organised. I know what e-learning I need to complete and then what off-the-job training I also need to complete. Work gives me time each week to make sure I can get everything complete. I also have regular catch ups to make sure I am fine and not struggling.
I receive a lot of support from my employer. The type of support I get is - HIG chats once a month, they comes to my monthly meeting with my apprenticeship mentor, they will also sit down with me and go though all of the e-learning and off the job hours. They will schedule me in time during the week to complete stuff.
I received a lot of support from my training provider. I have monthly meeting with them and we go though anything that I may be struggling with or just to see how I’ve been getting on. If I have any questions outside of the meeting I can e-mail them and they get back to me within a couple of hours.
This qualification is going to help me perform better in my job role because it’s giving me a deeper knowledge into the business and restaurant I work in. It has given my knowledge in how to deal with certain situations where I used to have to get someone else to help.
I tend to show up to our managers meals that happen twice a year. I show up to managers meeting that happens once a month.
