As a Degree Apprentice at CEVA Logistics, I work within a small team of three, focusing on driving solutions across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics. My role involves analysing processes, implementing improvements, and supporting projects to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and technological advancements within logistics operations.
I’ve enhanced my problem-solving abilities by working on innovative logistics solutions, improved my project management skills through cross-regional collaboration, and gained a deeper understanding of logistics technology, sustainability practices
I really enjoy my programme, especially the opportunity to travel around the country and build relationships with both internal and external colleagues. The chance to travel abroad for work is fantastic, and it’s been a great way to expand my network and gain new perspectives on the logistics industry.
My programme is fairly flexible and open, allowing me to shape it based on my personal goals and aspirations. While I receive guidance and support from my management team, it’s mainly driven by what I want to achieve and gain from my apprenticeship, giving me the freedom to tailor my experience.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer. My management team is always available for guidance, offering feedback and helping me navigate challenges. There’s also plenty of opportunity for mentorship and collaboration, which helps me grow both professionally and personally within the company.
While the support from my training provider is valuable, more regular contact would be beneficial. Simple check-ins or informal chats would help maintain consistent engagement and provide an opportunity for ongoing feedback, rather than waiting for structured "apprentice" days every few months.
I feel that my qualification helps me perform better in my role by providing a solid foundation of knowledge and relevant skills. However, I’d say the majority of my learning comes from my job and day-to-day responsibilities, rather than the theory taught during my study time. The hands-on experience has been the most valuable for my development.
As of yet, there haven't been many extra-curricular activities at work. We had a Christmas party, but that's about the extent of it so far. It would be great to see more opportunities for social events or professional networking in the future to help build connections and boost team morale.
Yes
I would recommend CEVA Logistics to a friend because it offers a great opportunity for growth and development, especially through apprenticeships. The company provides a supportive environment with a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration. You also get the chance to work across different regions, build valuable relationships, and gain hands-on experience that makes a real impact. Plus, there’s the added bonus of opportunities to travel and work on exciting projects.
Be proactive, open to learning, and embrace the flexibility of the programme. Don’t put pressure on yourself—everyone is supportive, and the structure is approachable. You can reach out to anyone for help. Take full advantage of the opportunities to gain hands-on experience and build valuable relationships.
