  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am learning how to become a service charge accountant by helping my colleagues with their work and completing my own tasks. I tick a lot of expenditure, create variance reports and Tennant Statements. I work closely with members of my team because my work affects theirs. I do not have many interactions externally.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have become more proficient in excel and accounting software from using them to aid my day to day work. I have learned how service charge works and also how to do certain tasks. I have also become more responsible because I know my work affects other peoples.

  • I enjoy my programme and the people are friendly. My daily tasks are challenging and I am becoming better with them with practice.

  • It is well organised. I have a good support network and I know where to go for help. I also know what to do and when to do it because the communication is very good.

  • I receive a lot of support from my employer within my team and there is also support outside my team if any issues arise.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a lot of support because there is a meeting every 2 weeks to discuss what we are all struggling with and plenty of resources to help me achieve my goals.

  • It has taught me key skills and definitions that help me better understand my daily tasks and it will make me more qualified for my role.
