For the first you you are sent to college to learn the basics of your role and gain knowledge and skills. You then spend the remainder of you time between college and site doing practical work and learning.
I have learn my new skills whilst working here and doing this apprenticeship. From technical work to basic life skills and knowledge I can use on a day to day basis. This job has taught me how to upgrade my existing skills and use them properly.
It has both pros and cons but overall I have had a mainly positive experience.
Truthfully the whole apprenticeship is not that well structure and the college struggle to do there part especially with communication and marking work or giving infomation. However on site they do hold up there end of the barging and give jobs and learning opportunities.
Depending on who yo speakm to depends on the level of support that is recived. I found that I have to push for things and it is very much if you don't ask you don't get.
Different people provide different levels of support but overall I would say that the people on my site have been supportive and helped when needed.
I dont think that it has really helpped at all as the training provider isnt good and there is alot of things they could do better. I have learnt more being on site and forgot most of what I learnt in college as it was dragged out over a long period of time with lots of useless information.
There are some but I haven't really heard or been invited to many.
Yes
Because I feel like the company its self can be very relaxing and the work load isn't to much to handle giving you a good balance and creating a better work environment. However there are some problems and things that I would say to them when talking about the company that lets it down.
Come into it with a open mind as things problem wont be as you expect and be prepared to have to find information and things out you self as communication can often fail.
