  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work on audit. On a day to day basis I am asked to process invoice or help on completion tasks. In my first year I have had many oppurnitnes to work on different parts of audit such as planning field work and completion. I have spent a lot of time working on revenue and expenditure recognition.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme usually. The work can be quite boring at times when repeating the same tasks over and over again but most of the time I have enjoyed it. Balancing time with work and exams can be difficult though and I have not liked how little the amount of study time we have is.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program is very well organised . I always know when I will be studying towards a module and I am given the content with more than enough time to revise. However there is a lot to keep up with when completing an apprenticeship and I wish we had a bit more guidance.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We are sent to BPP to complete our training. BPP is very helpful it is easy to reach out and ask questions and it makes the learning very easy to digest by giving steps to complete by set deadlines we have a schedule to keep us on track. But we don’t get enough study days so end up completing the work in our free time,

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It is essential not all of the modules I have studied in the aca exams so far have been applicable to my work and I don’t think all of the tests will be. But the basics like accounting is a must it would be impossible to do my role without it.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there has been many social events after work. All of them have been very enjoyable everyone at the work place is very friendly . It can deoend on the sector you work in as it seems other sectors do not have socials as often . When I first joined it was once a month now it’s like once every two.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Forvis Mazars to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have enjoyed my experience so far and have not had many complaints. Compared to my friends at other jobs most of the time the work life balance is a lot better and the atmosphere in the office is a lot better than others. Everyone I talk to enjoys working here.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Forvis Mazars?
  • I would advice that people focus on applying to one role where possible. If you apply to a tonne of audit roles you will know what to say in interviews and will already know what all the tests look like. I would also recommend practicing verbal presentations as they were part the of the interview process.
