My daily responsibilities involve working on house packs, using software such as AutoCAD, going to site, attending meetings, working in site plans, etc.
Since being here, I have developed many new skills such as new software, becoming confident on AutoCAD, understanding processes of design and the process of construction too.
I really enjoy my programme. I love learning new skills, and learning about the many approaches and ideas used in Architecture. I have also really enjoyed learning a variety of software.
I think the organization of my program is excellent. We began by briefly reviewing construction, then moved on to explore the more intricate aspects.
S J Roberts Construction are funding my HNC. They allocate me one day a week to have off to go to university. I feel they are supportive and encouraging. There is a lot of help if I am struggling with my programme.
The university’s support system is excellent. If you have any questions, you can ask your tutor anytime. We can use our computers out of class hours and receive training at the libraries. There is a lot of support available.
I am learning about the broader industry and studying the history of Architecture. I’ve also been learning a lot about new software’s, some that would be beneficial to use within the company.
